Spiral Bevel Racks

Spiral Bevel Gears are also gears, which the gear teeth are in a cone. Instead of straight gear teeth (like a straight bevel gear) the teeth are curved in a spiral (as in a tapered helical gear), tapering from bigger teeth (at the bottom) to smaller teeth (at the top).

Spiral Bevel Pinion

Spiral Bevel Pinions are cones with external involute radial teeth that spiral around the cone, tapering from bigger to smaller. A tapered helical gear with straight bevels can be made individually, but spiral gear must be made in sets (even if only one is worn or defective). Spiral bevel can be made from customer-supplied materials, as well as materials provided by Stahl Gear & Machine Co.
